ANZAC Poetry & Charcoal Art
Haiku Poems are a form of Japanese Poetry. The first line is made up of 5 syllables, second line 7 syllables and third line 5 syllables.
Whole Class: Brainstorm words and symbols connected to ANZAC day and the ANZACs
Independent:
1. Use the words brainstormed to create a Haiku poem about ANZACs.
2. Type your poem and print it in black and white- no pictures
3. Use a charcoal crayon and a red crayon to create an A4 setting that symbolises ANZAC history. As you can see below, it is mostly shades of black/grey with small amounts of red.
