PLACE VALUE BINGO
Activity: Each student begins with a ladder game board and a whiteboard marker pen. The teacher will set the 'range' of the ladder from the start. If they are using 6 sided dice then the range will be from 1111 to 6666 (bottom to top). 7, 8 and 9 sided dice could also be used. The teacher will role all four dice and write the numbers of the board. The students then need to rearrange those four digits to form a number which they place on their ladder accordingly. The strategy of the game is knowing where to place the four digit number ie it would not seem to be beneficial to put a number with a one in the thousands place at the top of the ladder as that will make it very difficult to complete the ladder. Once the number is on the ladder it cannot be moved. The first person to correctly complete their ladder in the correct order calls out "Bingo" and "wins".
